The Turkmen people have been engaged in weaving for centuries, weaving all kinds of fabrics from wool, silk, and cotton. The woven fabrics were often used only for their own needs, and were woven in each person's home. Turkmen girls and brides wove, cut, and sewed the fabrics they needed for their families and dressed their family members. At the beginning of the 20th century, Turkmen girls and brides widely used silk fabrics of all colors, such as keteni, sovsany, darayi, gowderi mixed with cotton and silk, alacha, and for men, they widely used cotton fabrics, biz, serendi, and similar hand-woven cotton, silk, wool, and linen fabrics. In our sovereign state, Turkmen women have preserved their national costumes to this day. I would like to express my gratitude to our Hero Arkadag, our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, for the opportunities they create for the Turkmen people to live a happy life!
